JW message becoming more and more relevant
by lsw1961 inmans requirements are limited which can be satisfied with a little and tension-free endeavor..
however man attempts not only to collect but also to grab and amass everything to the excess.
somehow he feels that he can be happy only when he has in abundance whereas others have nothingwhich seems to be the thread that runs throughout the history.

If creation works for you that is just great, for those who believe in evolution that is also just great. What I have difficulty with in this poster's thread is his english syntax, is it just me or does it sound like gobbledygook? What ever happened to plain english that everyone can understand? -

Saddest thing about being DFd
by kairos ini always enjoyed being kind.
when someone genuinely needed a hand or what not, it felt good to help family or friends.. i don't really miss them anymore.
i faded over two years ago, so they long ago shunned me.i think about them less and less and have even forgotten some names.i did enjoy some of the friendships and the association.

We had a family stay with us for many weeks when they had to sell their house for not paying taxes. Five extra people in our home and we cooked together, ate together and it was good to help out.
When we left the org the wife came by with two of the children one day when all my family had arrived just before christmas, I invited them in and gave coffee, cake, sweets etc and was very relaxed with her.
She left and told the elders we were celebrating christmas and the elders were going to call on us to check out what she had said. I do not regret helping them at the time they needed help but I was truly saddened by her actions.
I have another friend who is very depressed and has phoned in hysterics more than a couple of times. Each time I go and visit and sit with her to try to listen and calm her down, others in the hall I know do not bother with her as she is considered to much hard work. So I do understand your feelings, you are a genuine and kind person with no strings attached. I am sure your neighbours and friends you have now benefit from having you as a genuine friend.

My first post
by thewalker inhi, i just joined the board and wanted to present myself.. i'm active, in fact very active in congregation activities serving "where the need is great" in a foreign language congregation somewhere in western europe.
as a young brother, i'm seen as an example as i'm doing all a good witness should do.. i had doubts years ago but i decided just to ignore them and move to another congregation to preach more.
that worked for some years but i'm now at the exact same point.

Welcome thewalker, I do hope you give yourself time to think through all the signals your mind and perhaps body is giving to you that indicate something is "rotten in paradise". I had thoughts I dismissed for years as just me being a poor witness, I finally had to confront the real issues, did I truly believe this was the truth, could I accept the changing doctrines etc..
So take your time do not burn all your bridges at once, take the advice given regarding education etc. You are such a lucky young man to wake up so early and not have to waste the rest of your life as many of us have done.
Best wishes Chicken little

Such a good experience I love it! You did what I do, I just can't help it at times. When I bought my first real christmas tree the guy who sold it could see I was jumping with excitement so of course I told him it was my first tree...so he asked...so I told. That is just how it goes. I would love to see your costume too.
Glad you had a great time, cool your daughter invited you.

Coordinator of Elders Problems in One Southern England Circuit!
by The Searcher ininformation just passed to me.
let's hope this becomes even more widespread.
i wonder if the britain branch suspects a conspiracy?

I would imagine that those statistics will hold up in most of the circuits in the UK, so many are stepping down these days. I think they will find it impossible to function soon if the really old loyal elders start to throw in the towel as there is no one to step into their places, they young just can't be bothered. -

Welcome to you shattered origins, you do know you are very fortunate don't you? You are still young and have a life ahead of you. So many of us on this board have been in all our lives and are getting old and we wished we had woken up sooner, even though better late than never. So keep on checking things out and go out and enjoy your life and leave all the Jw stuff behind.
All the best to you.

CO Comes Up With A New Way To Be Judgemental...
by JW_Rogue inat the latest co visit something very strange happened.
during the meeting with the elders and servants he passed out a copy of a hypothetical publisher card and asked us what we could learn from it.
upon receiving it i saw that the average hours were pretty good, it had return visits and quite a few bible studies.

Hardtobeme....I remember we had a young brother who came into the "truth" and said he was of the annointed. This was around 1978, he was disfellowshipped within a short period of time due to his claims of being annointed. As you stated the 1935 cut off date was very much quoted at the time and I even remember talking for hours with my old bible study to prove to her that she would not be going to heaven based on this 1935 date. I feel sad now that I took away something that was very dear to her by relying on the WT flip flop doctrines.
When I went to pioneer school an elder said that to look for a good marriage mate we should ask to see there publisher card for the past few years!! Crap! I knew pioneers that made up their hours and placements and did not blink an eye about it.

Welcome River Song, hope your husband enjoys his day and your daughter too. I just put a skull with a flashlight outside my door and a bowl of sweets with a skeleton hand in the bowl, all ready in case some of the kids come by...it is not really a big tradition here in Scandinavia but you never know...I have been out 9 years and this is the first time, so I am a slow learner.
All the best
